Conformal coating and potting, are predominantly used to protect printed circuit boards from moisture, chemicals, and temperature extremes and prevent corrosion.

Production meeting demands
Assel has a production capacity for manufacturing electronic devices in large batches with its fast SMT featured by the speed of even 550,000 components per hour (as per IPC).
All our employees are constantly trained following the IPC training programs by our internal IPC trainer.
Furthermore, we can upscale or downscale the production to fulfill the current demand for your electronic devices and current needs.
Capabilities at Assel
The SMT production at Assel is performed by the state-of-art high-speed pick and place machines controlled by software solutions allowing for precise material and process control. The machines are suitable for placement of the smallest electronic components of 01005 size available on the market today.
If your project requires THT assembly, we will provide you with automated radial assembly, selective soldering, and wave soldering (in a nitrogen atmosphere), as well as the capability of manual soldering organized in cells or assembly lines.
For conformal coating, Assel is currently using ASYMTEK Select Coat® SL-940 Series featured by high precision, UV, and laser quality control. Potting is controlled electronically for precise dozing.
Quality controlling
At Assel, we register all materials during the inbound process, and selected materials are subject for incoming inspection based on the internal “best practice” or Customer requirements. The whole process is system controlled, while for manufacturing control we manage the whole process via a MES (Manufacturing Execution System) system and have the visibility of all steps of manufacturing, as well as the ability for process component level traceability.
Inspection techniques adopted by Assel include visual assessment, 2D and 3D Inline Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), 3D Automated Solder Paste and 3D Automated X-Ray (AXI).
Our testing capacities are very wide allowing us to perform functional tests, burn-in tests, high-voltage tests, ICTs or in-circuit test as well as environmental tests, for example, thermal shock chamber.
Supply chain management for electronic assembly
A crucial part of our service is supply chain management, including procurement. Through years of experience in the industry, we have established relationships with the leading suppliers of materials for electronic device production.
We have integrated our supply chain management and planning into the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system we are currently using and leveraged the potential of our own Manufacturing Execution System for production management. As a result, our clients can rest assured we will use the exact materials listed on their BOMs and technical specification.
